Matea works directly with clients, designers and production teams to create completely custom made bespoke footwear.
how it works
1. INITIAL CONSULTATION + DEPOSIT
Please fill out the Enquiry Form first.
Matea will then get back to you with a quote.
Once you approve the quote, you will be sent an invoice for a $250 non-refundable deposit.
Cost will vary depending on the style, materials and your approximate fitting requirements. As a rough guide ~ standard fit shoes start between $1500-$2000 and custom fit shoes start between $1750-$2700. (The $250 deposit will go towards the total cost of your shoes.)
2. FITTING
You can provide your measurements by either:
- arranging a time to visit the studio located in the Basin, 3154
- or using these detailed instructions
Your measurements will be used to confirm whether you require a standard fit or a custom fit shoe. Custom fit shoes can be made in absolutely any size - even odd pairs are possible!
*Please keep in mind - Matea is not a podiatrist and cannot assist with complex medical grade fitting requirements.
3. DESIGN
Now for the fun part! You'll be asked to send over some reference images, drawings or even just images of things that you like.
Matea will then develop a few different designs for you to choose from, that can be modified to your liking of course. From there things like materials and the finer details will be discussed.
4. MAKING
Matea will be in touch throughout the process to let you know how your shoes are going, and if there are any hiccups or design changes that need to be made.
Depending on the design, Matea may make a mock-up to test the fit, in which case it will be posted to you or a fitting time will be arranged at a suitable location.
Custom orders can take anywhere from 4-12 weeks to complete, depending on the design and fit requirements.
5. COMPLETION
The remainder of your invoice will be due upon completion.
Your shoes can then be collected in person from the studio or they can be posted out to you - exciting!
