Matea Gluščević is a skilled and experienced shoemaker based in Naarm/Melbourne, Australia. She works directly with clients, designers and production teams to create completely custom, handmade bespoke shoes.
how it works
1. INITIAL CONSULTATION + DEPOSIT
Please fill out the Enquiry Form first.
You will receive a reply within 48h to discuss further, and a quote will be provided. (Please check your spam/junk folder for replies).
Upon approval of the quote, you will be sent an invoice for a non-refundable deposit.
Cost will vary depending on the style, materials and your approximate fitting requirements. As a rough guide ~ standard fit simple flat shoes start at $1500.
2. FITTING
You can provide your measurements by either:
- arranging a time to visit the studio located in the Basin, 3154
- or using these detailed instructions
Your measurements will be used to confirm whether you require a standard fit or a custom fit shoe. Custom fit shoes can be made in absolutely any size - even odd pairs are possible.
*Please keep in mind - Matea is not a podiatrist and cannot assist with complex medical grade fitting requirements.
3. DESIGN
You will be asked to send over some reference images and/or drawings.
You can also scroll through the archive for inspo, or even request a remake of an archived style.
Matea will then develop a few different designs for you to choose from or she will use an existing design if thats what you're after. Designs can be modified to your liking.
4. MAKING
Matea will be in touch throughout the process, and you will be consulted if there are or design changes that need to be made.
Depending on the design, Matea may make a toile to test the fit, in which case it will be posted to you or a fitting time will be arranged at a suitable location.
Custom orders can take anywhere from 4-12 weeks to complete, depending on the design and fit requirements.
5. COMPLETION
The remainder of your invoice will be due upon completion.
Your shoes can then be collected in person from the studio or they can be posted out to you.
